World literacy day

World literacy day was celebrated at Anjuman I Islam's AAK English secondary school,Vashi. One day prior ie. 7th September,2024. as it was Sunday on 8th September,With a variety of engaging activities aimed at promoting literacy beyond the school community.

One of the key initiatives involved students from the std 8th , who were given the task of teaching at least one illiterate person to write their name. This hands-on activity not only allowed the students to actively contribute to the cause of literacy but also gave them a real-world experience of making a difference in their community. The students successfully completed the task, demonstrating their commitment and enthusiasm.

 

In addition to this, teachers organized various interactive activities in the classroom. These included newspaper reading sessions, language games like "Complete the Words," and a literacy pledge to reinforce the importance of reading and writing.

 

The celebration served as a reminder of the critical role literacy plays in personal and societal development, and the activities provided a valuable learning experience for everyone involved.
