Anjuman-I-Islam’s AAK English Secondary School, Vashi, organised an informative session on Burn Prevention and Fire Safety for students on 21st September, 2024 in association with National Burns Centre, Airoli. The aim of the session was to raise awareness among students about the risks of burns and fire hazards, and to teach them how to protect themselves and others in such situations.
The session was divided into two parts: the first focused on burn injuries, while the second addressed fire prevention and safety.
In the first half, students were introduced to the structure of the skin, its layers, and how burns affect the skin. The different types and severity of burns were explained, followed by discussions on the main causes of burns and preventive measures. The session also highlighted the importance of skin donation in helping those with severe burn injuries.
The second half of the session centered on fire prevention and safety. Students learned about the causes of fires, fire prevention tips, and the importance of familiarizing themselves with fire safety equipment. Additionally, they were taught emergency response procedures, empowering them to act swiftly and effectively during fire-related incidents.
To conclude, a short evaluation test was conducted to assess the students’ understanding of the topics covered, ensuring they were well-prepared to create a safer environment
