Taekwondo Tile breaking competition
Taekwondo is the Korean art of self defense, and is the most widely practiced martial art in the world. At two thousand years old, it is one of the oldest forms of self defence. Taekwondo promotes both mental and physical discipline. The breaking of wooden board, bricks or tiles is common, requiring both physical skill and mental concentration.
Anjuman-I-Islam A.A.K. English Secondary School, Vashi participated in one such Taekwondo-Tile breaking competition held at 9th OpenThane District held on 7th August, 2022. 36 students from the school had participated and with hardwork and determination by the students and their coach all 36 students won medals- 17 Gold Medals, 10 Silver Medals and 18 Bronze Medals.
The students left the judges and the audience awe struck with their commendable and immaculate performance. Thereafter the medals were distributed to all winners accordingly.
The winners were congratulated by the Principal, Mrs. Zulekha Siddiqui on their amazing performances. The students commented that they won the medals only because of the meticulous training by their coach Mr. Nitin and support and encouragement by their Principal.
Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence.
