World Food day
Anjuman-I-Islam’s A A.K English Secondary School, Vashi celebrated World Food Day on October 16th, 2023 by showcasing the local cuisine of 10 different countries from around the world. The students dressed up in traditional clothing and explained the diverse food cultures of India, Turkey, USA, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Italy, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Qatar, and China.
This year's World Food Day theme is 'Water is Life, Water is Food. Leave No One Behind,' which highlights the critical role of water in food production and the importance of managing water wisely. Students created awareness about the impact of rapid population growth, economic development, urbanization, and climate change on water availability and the rise of food insecurity.
The main purpose of celebrating World Food Day is to remind the world to tackle the global hunger crisis and promote the message that food is a fundamental human right. Let's raise awareness on the relationship between
water and food production and promote more sustainable food production and consumption patterns.
