GENDER LAB PROGRAM.

As rightly said by Maya Angelou, "How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate heroes and she-roes!"

Gender Lab project which is an initiative of the Avanshali Foundation was undertaken by Anjuman-I-Islam’s A. A. Khatkhatay English Secondary School. It was a year round project with a total of 8 sessions for the students of Std. VIII.

The session which comprised of dividing the students into smaller groups, assigning them projects and assisting them in the same came to an end on 22nd December, 2023.

The closing session was a full day session where students of each group presented their projects, the topics for which varied from Women Safety, Division of Labour, Study pressure,  Body Shaming, Trust issues and Gender Equality to name a few.

The Guests for the closing ceremony were Mr. Ashank Desai-founder of Avanshali Foundation,  Ms. VaishaliJethva-CEO of Gender Lab, Ms. Ashwini Patel-Associate Principal Architect at LTIMindtree. They spoke to the students about their experiences while working with Gender Lab, asked the students about their learnings and congratulated them for successfully completing the year round program.

At the end of the session, the students were given Certificate of completion of the programe. It was a good learning experience for the students, where they worked in groups and presented their ideas.
