Awareness campaign (Say no to drugs )
On 8th January, 2025, 20 students from Std. IX of Anjuman -I-Islam's A. A. Khatkhatay English Secondary School, Vashi took part in an awareness campaign on Say No to Drugs.
The campaign was conducted by Mumbai Police Department at CIDCO Exhibition Centre. The students reached the venue by 9.00 am with the incharge teacher, Mrs. Rubina Momin.
The guests for the campaign were Hon. Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, Mr. John Abraham, Hon. Forest Minister of Maharashtra, Ganesh Naik, Prashant Thakur and Manda Tai Mhatre, to name a few.
To make the students aware about the harmful effects of Drugs, volunteers performed a number of skits and dance. Later on, the ambassador of this campaign, Mr. John Abraham spoke to the students about the importance of eating healthy food and staying away from all bad habits. This was followed by Hon. Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis who first praised Navi Mumbai for being the third cleanest city of India and he further stated that the government now has pledged to make Navi Mumbai Drug free in the coming five years.
All the guests then individually spoke to the students about the harmful effects of consuming drugs and the need and ways to stay fit. Lastly, the campaign ended with National Anthem.
