SOCIAL CONCLAVE 2025

The students of Std VIII and IX from Anjuman-I-Islam’s A. A. Khatkhatay English Secondary School participated in the Social Conclave 2025, in collaboration with the UN. The selected 50 students attended the 3-day Conclave along with two incharge teachers.

The purpose of the conclave was to highlight various social - economic issues and come up with innovative solutions for the same. The agendas for the conclave ranged from -

1. Urban Utopia: Powering urban development with renewable energy to create sustainable cities.

2. Uplifting voices of traditional artisans: Tackling exploitation of traditional artisans and empowering them for equitable opportunities.

3. Beauty beyond Cruelty: Addressing

animal cruelty in the beauty industry through ethical and cruelty-free product innovations.

The first day of the Conclave was Official inauguration of the 3-day event, followed by a Panel Discussion. The students were divided in three different groups and were assigned each of the three agendas respectively. In the panel discussion, the students got a chance to listen to some valuable talks with different industry experts, based on their respective agenda. This was followed by a light hearted Comedy night, marking an end to the first day.

The second day mainly focused on Field visit, where the student groups were taken to different areas, depending upon their agenda. Here the students got a chance to talk to real people working in the field, understand their issues and expectations from the society at large. This visit was followed by a Mock Panchayat, which was basically a Debate. Here the students of various agendas were divided into two teams each: For and Against. The teams then had to debate on their given agenda topic. For the debate they had to use the points discussed by the industry experts on Day 1 and the information they gathered through the field visit on Day 2.

The third day basically was a sum up of Day 1 and Day 2. The students had to submit an Online report of their experience at the conclave in the previous two days. After lunch, they had to present their learnings from the 3 days with respect to their agenda. The presentation round dealt with students presenting their agenda - the issue and also suggesting solutions for the same.

The students were evaluated and given marks based on their participation and innovation throughout the three days of the conclave. The last day ended with a Closing Ceremony and giving away of prizes and certificates to the winners and participants.
